With the initial Help Out on 8th May following the King's Coronation, being a resounding success, a second Help Out Day was held during November, to aid those who through ill health struggle with their plots. It was also dual purpose in putting the allotments to bed for the winter months. All in all it was, once again, a very rewarding day, and luckily the wet forecast did not materialise.
There were 14 willing volunteer helpers taking on many jobs around the site. Community spirit was tremendous. Refreshments were served, throughout the day, in the new plot holder's Blue Shed and helpers were rewarded with unlimited tea, coffee and sumptuous cakes. In addition there was hot supply of allotment grown beetroot soup !
