Wellesbourne Allotments are one of the few allotment sites being offered within the NGS Open Garden Scheme within the Warwickshire Area. In 2021 there are more than 3,600 gardens across the UK that will open to the public. There is an amazing selection from extensive country gardens, to small community gardens and of course a few allotments.

Requiring a massive effort by gardeners across the UK to open their space to the public has raised over £60 million to nursing and health charities since 1927. In 2018 the scheme donated £2.88 million . The core beneficiaries include Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie, Hospice UK and The Queen’s Nursing Institute. Money raised also supports charities doing amazing work in gardens and health and grant bursaries to help community gardening projects

The National Garden Scheme doesn’t just open beautiful gardens for charity – it’s also about sharing the physical and mental health benefits of gardens too.
