They’ve called thier shed ‘crackpot hall’ - As seen on BBC Country File

Matt Baker & Helen Skelton used their ‘Crackpot Hall’ shed on Plot 5b to present the BBC Countryfile episode broadcast from Wellesbourne Allotments in August 2019 & was also used as their Green Room During filming.

See the Countryfile video here

‘We named our shed ‘Crackpot Hall’ after our favourite walk in Swaledale, yorkshire dales.

Just like our shed, it’s not a grand mansion as the name suggests, but originally built as a humble farmhouse.

The name ‘Crackpot’ has part Scandinavian origins from the Viking occupation of the Dale. The Norse word “Pot” means deep hole & the word Crack has Olde English origins & translates as Crow.’

Whilst your here Take a look at the great collection of odd things John & Gillian have inside their shed.

The Lettings Officer at Wellesbourne allotments conducts regular plot inspections, keeping all the plot holders on their toes & one of the reasons why our site looks so fantastic !
